Academy of Art College
San Francisco, CA
Adam Forfang began
his studies at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco as soon as he graduated from high school in 1996. "In the beginning, most of my time was spent doing charcoal drawings from plaster casts and still lifes," he said. "Now the main groups of courses I am taking involve painting still lifes, portraits and the figure from life." Anatomy and Art History courses are part of his curriculum as well. Adam feels the Academy offers great technical training as well as opportunities for experimentation and expression. He expects to graduate in spring 2001.

Cao Min Xie
Savannah College of Art & Design
Savannah, Georgia
|
Cao Min Xie, a 26-year-old graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design,
is a native of Shanghai, China. He was awarded his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in
sculpture from the China National Academy before coming to SCAD to pursue a Master
of Fine Arts degree in painting. Still in his first year of graduate school, Cao is not sure what he would like to pursue
as a career, or if he will remain in the U.S. or return to China. It is safe to say that
Cao has a bright future ahead of him at SCAD, a school he deems "very kind and
honest."
