"Many, many thanks for the generosity of the artists contributing their talents and for giving so graciously of themselves. It was exciting, informative and (for some of us senior citizens) exhausting. I wouldn't have missed it for the world and am anxiously awaiting the next one." -Barbara Stirling

Richard Whitney (incoming Chairman of ASOPAF) chats with Michael Del Priore (outgoing Chairman) at the Awards Banquet. The New York Athletic Club provided an elegant setting for the Awards Banquet. Richard Whitney presents Jonathan Paier, of Paier College of Art in Connecticut, one of the three Achievement Awards for attaining high excellence in education in Fine Arts (Paier, Savannah College of Art and Design, and Academy of Art College in San Francisco were three host schools for Foundation portrait events in 1999). The banquet gave participants a chance to relax and compare notes. Daphne Todd, first woman president of Great Britain's Royal Society of Portrait Painters, was keynote speaker for the evening. The view from the New York Athletic Club included a panorama of Central Park and the city skyline. Michael Del Priore presents Leon Loard with the Founder's Award.
