Zimou Larry Tan

Zimou Larry Tan was born in Canton, China, but now lives in the
Bay Area in California an dis proud to be an American citizen. Tan has had a strong
interest in art since childhood. When he was 12 years old, he apprenticed with one
of the Chinese masters. He has been studying oil painting for the past two years at
the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and has participated in numerous
exhibitions and received many awards. Tan is an illustrator as well as a realist
painter. His work shows a lot of energy through theuse of color and his brushwork.
He feels art is one of the best ways to communicate with others - through art, people
can feel and relate to the world of the artist. Tan enjoys painting the figure,
portraits, landscapes, still lifes and wildlife.

Justin Meyers, whose work in pencil is shown
above, adds the ASOPAF scholarship to a long list of scholarships
and awards. He was born in Nebraska, and before enrolling at SCAD,
he attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Justin has been
exhibiting his work since 1993. |
